Matt's sub-prisonment in the news distributed to the media suggests that by reports of the occupants in local power units, several dwellings in Maculku villages, Urakas, Rukaj and Lis have been damaged. In total, Matti's sub-infecture reports 90 damaged settlements on Mat's territory and 36 dwellings in the Klos municipality. According to the Prefecture, the damage has focused on cracks in buildings, damage in domestic furniture, rather than on people. The municipalities of this Prefecture have established groups working on the ground for verification and damage assessment.
The following Saturday's earthquake, the Defence Ministry gave a smaller assessment of the damage caused in a preliminary assessment. The defence ministry distributed a news release to media suggesting there were 12 buildings damaged in the Klos municipality, mainly on wall cracks, ceiling damage etc., 8 houses damaged in the municipality of Matt and 47 damaged dwellings in the municipality of Bulqiza.
Flamur Jela, director of Civil Emergencys at the Bulqiza Hall in a telephone conversation for BIRN, said that so far there are injuries such as cracks or any other minor damage, but not significant damage or that could be a serious threat to residents' lives:
“So far near civil emergency facilities in the Bulqiza municipality have been reported 47 houses damaged by yesterday's earthquake. We suspect there have been injuries that may also be from other earthquakes, but for that, a group from the Prefecture will be inspected for one in every apartment. So far it is reported that the largest number of damaged residences are in Martanesh, several villages in Shupenza, and in Zerqan,” said Jela.
Nerim Dema, civil emergency officer in the Klos municipality, told BIRN in a telephone conversation that Saturday's earthquake has brought only material damage and fortunately was without human damage. For Demas, 36 damaged dwellings have been recorded in the town territory of Klos so far.
“Cerruje and Patina villages are the most affected so far, but there are others. The injuries are mainly walls, plasters and several damaged roofs,”, told BIRN Dema.
Today, in villages where there were the greatest injuries from the quake, there were also Debar Prefect Nexbed Shehu and Civil Emergency Director Hakki Chako.
Debar's Prefect, Nexbedin Shehu, told BIRN that all necessary measures for coping with such a situation have been taken from the institution he heads.
I'm on the ground today with the Director General of Civil Emergency. The Prefecta has established working groups to locate every damaged house and fortunately so far report only 3 houses that have become habitable, even these homes are very old and should be seen whether they were previously habitable or not. The worst - affected area of the earthquake is Matt's where about 90 damaged dwellings are counted, and in Klos about 36,” Shehu said of BIRN.
In all, the Mat, Klos and Bulqiza municipalities report 173 damaged residences. (reporter. Al)
