Gerald Pique gave a brief interview in Barcelona's official media to commemorate his 10th anniversary of his debut with the Catalan club, after returning from Manchester United.
His first official match was against Wisla Krakova, in the Champions' qualifying season 2008-09.
“Playing a little bit in that win 4-0 and in “Camp Nou” was very good. I've played the following rounds. I left the stadium happy that night. To get back again and again, 10 years has already been”, the quarterback points out.
Bilance: “I would never have expected to win what I earned, play what I played and have the importance I had. I have enjoyed endless joy and feel privileged. One day I'll have to raise my hand and leave, but until that day comes, I'll enjoy the same, as I'm going to be, until now”
Memories: “I think they're from Champions. That moment in Berlin made me very excited because the first six months were very difficult. The coach was in question, there was an election call... And the last six months were brutal. It was the second tripleta. Winning the first triplet was a big achievement, but the second meant that this group of players has done things that would never have been expected”.
Competition: “There's always competition, but I've been playing here for ten years and what remains will be to enjoy. I will not act like Puyol, who said he would play until 40 years of age and left next year. I want to enjoy football year after year and when the end comes, let it come. It is inevitable, one day it will arrive”.
