Two thousand deaths in road accidents since the postwar

The “University Temple” today has organised the table due to the recent increase in fatal accidents in Kosovo's communications.

It discussed precautions of security organs as well as sensationalising campaigns to reduce accidents by the dead.

This college director Muhamed Krasniqi has mentioned accidents, with particular emphasis during the summer season.

We have about 2,000 people killed in road accidents, and it's peaceful circumstances, not war. This number of statistics takes us to another level where it is equivalent to a state in a war condition”, Krasniqi said.

In this case, Minister Gashi noted that with the aim of preventing accidents in road traffic and increasing road traffic security, Kosovo police have carried out many activities aimed at preventing traffic accidents.

Gashi has estimated that this too directly helps within policies for communication with the public, with the goal of increasing awareness of participants in road traffic.

Kosovo Police's Road Communications Division Director Sabdin Mehmeti said that after taking office, there have been tests for accidents since 2002.

“Often, there are fatal accidents that are disturbing, it is known at the level of Kosovo that we have lost entire families, such as the Suhareka case. What is most discussed within the municipality of Pristina is the lack of proper signal in communications, whether vertical or horizontal, where it is especially known in rural areas is almost existing, in ways where there are new roads and without wanting at any moment to excus the Pristina municipality, which is at the right level, and adequate control and implementation of contracts in the construction of new infrastructure<1>, he said.

Pacolli has said that no fatal accident has taken place in Pristina this year. All participants on this table, given the number of accidents, estimated that it should be managed with concrete steps in order to reduce the number of traffic accidents.
