Adriatic Customs spokesperson Stavileci has expressed import of old cars is about 40 per cent less than last year, while the new ones have noted growth.
“As far as import is concerned, we have a drop in car number by 40 %s less than last year until the import of new vehicles has marked growth”, he said.
Thus, the import of old cars between January and July 2017 was 14 thousand and 737 pieces.
This number, however, has marked a decline this year. In the customs statistics for Indexline, only 8 thousand and 197 old cars were imported this year.
This is due to the law on limitations of age and motor vehicles.

However, from the import of these old cars, the collected taxes were over 34m euros.
The taxes this year have dropped to 23 million.
In 2017, however, the number of new cars was small because of the large number of older ones.

Otherwise, their numbers were 1,000 and 578 pieces. This number, however, has marked growth this year, to two thousand and 123 new cars, respectively, writes Indexline.
Stavileci has indicated that there have been several cases at the border points when vehicles were caught that had no progress.
Official data shows that more than 315 thousand registered cars are in Kosovo, where the average of their age that circulates in Kosovo is 18 years.
