Bujanovac chairman's warning: Any choice for the Presevo Valley brings tragedy

The idea for the exchange of territories between Serbia and Kosovo has come after a Open Society Foundation report, in which bids are provided for the exchange of Presevo with the four majority Serb municipalities in northern Kosovo,

So stated during an interview with the newspaper “Voice” Mayor of the Bujanoc municipality Shaip Kamberi, who believes such a report has been sponsored by the state head in Belgrade itself, writes the newspaper “Zri” today.

Kamberi, who was formerly deputy in Serbia's Parliament and where there had been severe clashes in the legislature at the time with former Prime Minister Aleksandar Vuciq, currently president of Serbia, says the Presevo Valley is not just Presevo, and much less several border settlements in the former Security Land Zone, but included three municipalities: Presevo, Medvedja and Bujanoc for 1264 square miles.

Bujanoc's first insists that any parliamentary solution for the Presevo Valley will bring humanitarian tragedy. In the interview for “Zerin” Kamberi has added that the Presevo Valley requires no solution, which violates Kosovo's territorial integrity and neither Kosovo for the sake of the Valley to give up any of its demands against Serbia.

“We are talking about the declaration of Albanians in this region in the 1992 Referendum, in which we have been declared the right to co-operation with Kosovo. So, a demand stretched in a plebiscious manner before the current situation in northern Kosovo” is created, he said.

According to Kamberi, Serbia has even engaged foreign experts to make <x0-calculatory” scripts of possible solutions to the Kosovo issue. “Sic said it even higher, we don't ask for any sacrifice that Kosovo should make for our wishes, we demand that the right expressed by the Albanian population be found at the negotiating table in Brussels”, stated among other things Kamberi in the “Zerin” interview.
