Going on bicycles from two theatres, Amir Aslan and Senate Idrizi, has taken a tour of local media and the world. The Skopje distance of 4,000 kilometers had not frightened Mecca to realize their dream.
In addition to implementing the fifth pillar of Islam, two bicycles have had an extraordinary 40 - day adventure that they will remember throughout their lives. In an exclusive confession to the Portal.mk, Aslan relates about the adventures and the ordeals along the way, and he also relates the hospitality that the residents of the towns they've been through.
Senad Idrizi and imami Amir Aslan left Tetovo on June 23rd, while 40 days have travelled from Macedonia, Albania, Greece and have stopped for a break in Turkey, to continue and to Jordan, to the point where they were forced to return to Macedonia because of their lack of visas.
Though tired from the street, Aslan did not hesitate to tell us about his trip with his friend Senad, who has just arrived from the pilgrimage, has started working as a lawyer.
We've started without knowing how we're going to get across, we've been planning for two years, and we've been trying to get all the right things on the way. What I've been surprised by has been a welcome in every city. I can easily say that I've been surprised for over 40 days' journey in just two nights we've paid the hotel to sleep, in every city starting with Struga, Fier and Gjirokastra have provided us citizens with food and a place to sleep, there's been nothing planned, and we've left everything to chance, and thanks to human and kind people we've been able to feed and secure sleep, what's more surprising than in all the cities we've been through, there've had people who have been waiting for us with so much respect, say, 151x>
He, remembering the travel moments, relates that after Macedonia, Albania and Greece have passed, they have stopped in Istanbul. Where he says, many have been met with love from many citizens and many institutions, including municipal leaders.
Our trip has been very comfortable, we haven't had any problems. We had good health, and bicycles didn't do us any trouble. In Istanbul we did a service and it helped us not to have problems”, says Aslan.
Their trip from Turkey has continued to the holy site Meke, where they had to cross to Amman, but because of the disruption of shipping since 2013, when the so-called Islamic State was presented (ISIS), they have headed to Jordan to reach Saudi Arabia. They have traveled 350 miles to Jordan, but it has had to stay there for two more weeks in order to equip themselves with visas. After two weeks, they have not been able to enter Saudi Arabia and have been forced to return to Turkey and then Macedonia.
Losing their hopes that they will not be able to realise their dream, those August 18th are invited by the Saudi Arabia Embassy in Albania to receive visas.
Amir Aslan says that Albania has gone to August 18th, and from there to Istanbul they have flown to Meke.
It was good luck for us. I didn't think we'd get the visas at the last minute. When we asked for it, we were told that you came too early and then this happened. We fulfilled the fifth Muslim condition, going to the pilgrimage, it was a dream, and we made it very desirable, we made an example of who did it before, and we hope that we will motivate many others to do the same”, says Aslan.
Aslan says that earlier, a man from Bosnia and Herzegovina observed the pilgrimage walking from his country, while he and his companion went to the pilgrimage from one Balkan country of Idriz and Aslan, showing that their desire was to reach Mecca after a trip to 3 continents and 6 countries and pray for Muslims.
