Austria's President Alexander Van der Bellen has asked Kosovo President Hashim Thaci and Serbia's Aleksandar Vuciq to reach agreement within this year.
That, according to him, should happen because of new elections taking place in the EU in March, and this is the period when “tren stops”.
Austria's head of state, who has been part of the panel where Thaci and Vuciq have discussed, has not spoken of reforming borders, saying he does not want to enter into the details of the negotiations.
Van der Bellen is a member of the European Forum in Alpbach, attended by Kosovo President Slovenia and Serbia's president and other senior EU representatives.
