Absurd and unnecessary, Kadri Veselin reacts to opposition for extraordinary session

Kosovo Parliament Speaker Kadri Veselin has said the opposition political parties' initiative for an extraordinary session about dialogue with Serbia constitutes an absurd and completely unnecessary action on the topic which is said to be addressed, despite the fact that it has called it an action, procedurally in order.

According to him, Kosovo's sovereignty and territorial integrity -- neither yesterday nor today, nor ever -- is protected by electoral statements and eventual resolution.

Wessel also estimates that Kosovo's sovereignty and integrity are protected by state institutions and its constitution.

Opposition political parties have taken initiative to call for an extraordinary session of the Republic of Kosovo Assembly.

This action, while progressively in order, is politically a absurd and completely unnecessary act on the subject it is said to address.

Kosovo's sovereignty and territorial integrity -- neither yesterday nor today, nor ever -- is protected by electoral statements and the eventual resolution.

Kosovo's sovereignty and integrity are protected by state institutions and its constitution.

Opposition panic and lies with which opposition parties disinform Kosovo citizens are shameful and at the same time dangerous to the country's stability. They have one single goal: to stir tensions and then violent antidemocratic protests, contrary to constitutional and legal order in the country.

It is a regret that these opposition parties continue to violate the fundamental principle of the democratic state, which says power is won by free elections, not by demonstrations of political violence.

Opposition parties must speak openly whether they are for or against dialogue with Serbia.

This dialogue is well known to have three goals.

The first goal is to reach the international legal agreement responsible for normalising Kosovo's relations with Serbia.

The second goal, dependent on the first, is mutual recognition as two independent and sovereign states.

The third goal is to pave the way for full-fledged Kosovo membership in the UN, NATO and the EU.

These are the goals outside which the state of Kosovo does not make any other action.

Opposition parties, if they are for these goals, are welcome to build the joint platform of development and finalisation of dialogue and to be an active part of the joint unity team.

If they are against dialogue and with deliberate dezinforms want to manipulate citizens, saying that the state and the territory of Kosovo are allegedly in danger, let them sleep comfortably, because state institutions are at the helm of constitutional duties.

Kosovo is an independent and sovereign state, and as such participates in Kosovo-Serbia Dialogue. Kosovo does not negotiate its citizenship, sovereignty and territorial integrity.

State institutions remain committed to achieving our goals for membership in the UN, NATO and the EU. And, under no circumstances, they don't become part of dark scenarios, false causes and hearings that provoke tension and panic.
