Xhaferi: If not the leaders, then the Parliament will unlock the work of the KSHZA

Parliament head Talat Xhaferi in an interview for the MIA news agency has stressed that the KSHZ must be formed as long as deadlines for the referendum declaration are approaching.

According to him, the end of July and early August are the possible dates when the Parliament will declare the referendum, but will pre-dominate members of the KSHZ.

To say when it is the last day for the referendum declaration, I must have the date on which it will be held. We are not too busy with this, but July 30th and July 31st or August 1st is the deadline. As far as changes in the Electoral Code are concerned, the procedures allow for debate over the proposal until it lasts and there are consensus agreements among political parties there is no obstacle for the proposer to withdraw the proposal and close the debate”, said Talat Xhaferi, chairman of the Parliament.

Following the formation of the KSHZ and prior to the referendum declaration, the agreement with Greece will be published in the Official Gazette.

“If the law does not enter into force, what is the logic of holding the referendum? If the law was brought to the Parliament and counted as law in power, then when will it be published? That's why I'm leading a campaign with all institutions so that actions can be co-ordinated and no decisions are forced. It will be logical because the law will be subject to the referendum. In terms of formal-juridical law, although it has been brought in, is not in force until it is published in the Official Journal”, Talat Xhaferi, head of the Parliament, stressed.

The next two weeks according to Xhaferi will be crucial to the country's future. By the end of the month, the Assembly will have to elect members of the KSHZ, send the name agreement to the Office Journal and announce the date of the referendum. In this direction, according to Xhaferi, there is no other option.
