Gerdan Shaqiri believes Liverpool is in a good position to achieve success in upcoming seasons until he intends titles after joining the club on a long-term contract
The Kosovo attacker completed medical tests and reached an agreement with Reds coming from Stoke City today, which is the third one at Anfield this summer.
Soon after he begins his interview with Liverpool. com for the first time officially as Liverpool player, he shows his ambitions for titles: his desire to win as many as possible.
Shaqiri has also shown that he has great respect for Jurgen Klopp as a human and manager, until he has explained his moments with Mohammed Salah six years ago and his feeling when he scored his first goal before Cop.
Welcome to the Liverpool football club. How happy are you at reaching this agreement?
First, thank you. I'm so happy here. It's a big club with a big story, big players and a great coach. So I'm happy to be here.
You had a choice this summer, why did you choose Liverpool?
As a player I'm always a fan of big football scenes. Years ago I wanted to come here but it didn't happen. I'm really glad I'm finally here. I want to improve myself, I want to give my best, I want to win titles. That's why I'm here.

Have you always hoped this would happen?
Of course, I was disappointed. At that time my club didn't want me to leave. Now I'm happy to be here, and I can't wait to get started.
Jurgen Klopp says this is the perfect place for you to prove yourself. Is that part of why you wanted to come here?
I know the coach from Germany when he was in Dortmund. We used to play against each other with Bayer and they were always big fights. It was a big turn for me to come here because of this coach. I like his football, how he plays and manages his team. I've always been a fan of him, and I'm glad I joined him.
Is it his personality or his style of training directly in front of players or what?
He has a great personality. The most important thing is to win matches and races. He's hungry to do that. Since he's been here, you can see how far this team has progressed. They have the best way to win titles and that's why I'm here I want to win the title. I think we can do a lot.
You want to improve and he's a specialist in improving players, where do you want to improve more?
They had a good season last season. They were very upset when they lost in the Champions League final; but this is football sometimes. I'm looking for the new season! I hope we do well together and believe we will eventually have some trophies in our hands.

This is the first time you've changed clubs inside a country. Do you think this will help?
I played three years in Stoke and I know the league. I'm so happy to be here. I'm a player who wants to improve and this is a perfect place for months to help the team and the club win titles.
Anfield is not new to you after you played three times before. What an impact he had on you as a rival player...
It's an amazing stadium. I played here with Stoke and I know him. He's got a great atmosphere of great fans. I hope he enjoys it now and gives his best for the team. We must give fans joy and success. We want to win matches and be successful. As an opponent it's always hard to go to a stadium I know and I know so now I'm so happy that I'm here with this big family and I'm going to play against big teams, good squads, and I'm going to do my best at this stadium.
We're used to your party with our hands. What do you think it's gonna be like when you get to the front of Cop for the first time?
I'm sure it's going to be an amazing feeling when it's going to mark the first goal before the fans. I can't wait to start.
For now, there's a lot of competition for seats in the Liverpool attack. Will you work for the team?
We always have challenges in football. Naturally, Liverpool has a player's ball, very good players, new players. It's hard for everyone. I'm glad I'm here and I believe in myself. The most important thing is to be on the team and win as a team. There are only 11 players in the field, there are more than 11 players who win the title. I'm glad I'm here to show myself.

You know Mohammed Salah a little bit from Basel. What memories do you have of your short time together?
I don't know him that well, but he came to practice when I was at Basel. He came two-three times to practice, trained me. Then I went to Baiern Munich and he stayed at Basel. I'm glad to see him here. He had an amazing season last year and I hope he'll do it this year.
As an attacker you are, how impressed are you with what he did last season?
I'm so happy for him and what he did last season was great, he's a good, very good guy. The most important thing for the club is to work and he had a good season. Players always get bored when they don't win trophies, but I hope they do this year.
What was it like to see Liverpool last season as a neutral person?
He had a high-intensity ghost football. I've always been a fan of Jurgen Klopp saying I'm happy to be here and I'm part of this team. I think I'll fit the game system in this club.
It seems your targets are clear: you want to win trophy here...
Of course. I want to win trophy-this is my ambition. I already know what it's like to gain from the experience with Bayern Munich when we won the tripleta and it was an amazing feeling. I'm sure he'll win many titles here. Fans deserve it. Hopefully we'll have a good season and I'm hungry to win titles.
What's the message to Liverpool fans after you joined their club today?
I just want to tell you that I'm so happy to be here. I can't wait to see the fans. I hope you and I will have wonderful memories of years to come.
