Scientists have accidentally discovered a phone battery that lasts twice as long as the actual ones.
A group of British experts came in contact with a new material called O SPC-1, which is also less likely to explode. Now they are hoping that the material will double the capacity of lithium batteries, as it is able to maintain a high volume of lithium ions.
Speaking of The Times, Abbie Trainin, from the University of Lancaster, said: “We were trying to create a new form of carbon, but we found this. We thought, would it be good for batteries? We tested how many lithiums could suck and we were surprised. ”
Although this research work, published at the Angerwandte Chemie, is in its early stages, experts hope that in the future this carbon can develop further and make up future batteries.
