Justice Minister Abelard Tahiri, presenting to MPs the Supreme Court's Special Chamber bill on issues related to the Kosovo Privatisation Agency, has said that any delay in adopting these changes has a direct effect on our country's economy.
Tahiri said that as a result of changes to EULEX's mandate in the judiciary, which have entered into force on 14 June of this year, changing this bill is essential.
Because international judges have completed the mandate, changes to the structure that this law envisions are necessary to ensure the continuation of work after international judges leave. I point out that because of this court's exclusive competence in issues related to the Kosovo Privatisation Agency, the work of this court directly affects the dynamics of the privatisation process, as well as the carrying of the remaining means into the Kosovo budget, therefore any delay in adopting these changes has a direct effect on our country's economy“, he said.
According to him, this bill is a concrete evidence that Kosovo institutions have the capacity to lead their own work in this court.
He adds that there are about 21.300 registered left hostage to hundreds of millions of euros before those which workers owe 20 %s, creditors and, above all, Kosovo budgets.
