Kosovo publicist and writer Veton Surroi has produced a new text published at the Time portal entitled “The...? This writing portrays concern about changing global policy, which would in a way seriously harm our country, writes Periscope.
Surroi speaks of Donald Trump's presidency, which he considers problematic for Europe and thus Kosovo. Especially problematic is seen that President Trump is making the alliance northeastern Nato.
The US “problem is called the Trump presidency, and it is demonstrated through what is widely perceived in Europe as abandoning traditional Atlanticist politics, which the US has successfully led since the end of World War II. ” writes Surroi.
However, the former Kosovo politician does not believe Albanians should give up philosophy-Americanism as he calls it, the cause of a single president. Surroi thinks the “identity crisis, which the presidency Trump launched is not necessarily structural. ”
Furthermore, he adds that the emptiness left in Kosovo and generally in the suburbs of the West has committed three moves to filling it: Putin's Russia, Erdogan's neoomanism and the ISIS's “Islamic nationalism”.
