The “Fadil Vorkri” stadium will open soon. Work done will be assessed by U EFA.
It was scheduled for the test match to be held on July 28th, but it has been postponed indefinitely due to the death of national affairs activities, Adem Demac, and Kosovo has three days of mourning.
Culture, Youth and Sports Minister Kujtim Gashi in an interview for Kosovo has declared that Kosovo will for the first time have a stadium that meets UEFA criteria.
We will solemnly test the first game in this stadium. This test is done under the requirements and criteria UEFA and FIFA have for us, and it will be the first game, testing game, which will then be assessed by inspectors, by UEFA supervisors, that we have met all the requirements and criteria required to be a stadium with international recognition”, Gashi said.
Minister Gashi has indicated that this renovation of the stadium, which they have done in co-operation with the Pristina municipality, has cost nearly tenm euros.
He said that through this investment they've been cooperating with U. EFA and have tried to meet the terms.
“EFA will license the stadium for the fact that we've had extremely good co-operation with UEFA inspectors, we've been willing to place every request they want in the project, for that and the project has cost us quite a lot of it, because the ongoing demands have been of the U inspectors. The EFA, for example, to decide to say two entrances, the two gates, were not first made the project, but then it was a request, for security reasons, but also for monitoring matches by the Monsumers”, Gashi said.
Gashi has told Kosovapress that after this project, they will also begin with investments at the “Adem Jashari” stadium in Mitrovica, and have said they are already in the process of building the national stadium in Drenas.
He has also announced that they are working on fixing other city stadiums.
