Serbian Orthodox priest Sava Janjzic has sounded the alarm that information is being circulated about a coordinated scenario under which the situation would be provoked so that its escalation could bring division. He has called on all sides, including the international factor and KFOR, to eliminate such an outcome, which would be a major step back for Kosovo and the region.
Janiq, writing on his Facebook account, has underlined that he expects the United States and the European Union not to tolerate these individuals or groups, who want to incite violence.
“Many disturbing information is being circulated, including for a co-ordinated scenario in northern Kosovo, which would provoke reactions to both sides to lead Kosovo towards partition. KFOR remains committed to peace, but people are concerned about their future. It is important that these scenarios be dismissed as untrue by all parties”.
“I strongly hope that the international community, especially the US and the EU, will not tolerate irresponsible individuals, or groups, on both sides, provoke violence, from which innocent people can be hurt and valuable monuments damaged, as in 2004. This would be a huge step back for Kosovo and the region. The dialogue should be turned into frames which all citizens guarantee security and respect of rights”.
