The Adidas site explains that technology provides users with access to various “operations”, including “exclusive information for product, content, racing and special challenges”, the Periscope broadcast.
The US Secret Service said in a statement: “All gifts given to the president are subject to a full review of security. The Secret Service does not specifically comment, nor does it generally comment on the tools and methods of our defense responsibilities”.
It is not clear whether the ball Putin gave Trump contained the advertised device and if he does, it does not necessarily mean that it poses a security risk.
The White House hasn't reacted to this ball yet.
According to the Adidass site, technology works by interacting with smartphones or tablets activated with “Near Field Communication”, which the company describes as “digital technology that allows two devices to exchange data or cause certain actions when they are physically connected to each other”. /Periscope/
