“Google” confirmed that private emails sent and received by “user Gmail”, sometimes, can be read by third person, app developer.
The people who have connected the apps of the third parties to their accounts may have unwittingly given permission to read their messages. A company, says the <x0 Wall Street Journal”, that practice is common and calls it a dirty secret.
“Google”, meanwhile, has hinted that the practice does not conflict with its policies. A security expert says it's surprising that “Google” has allowed that.
“Gmail” is the most popular email service, with 1.4 billion users. “Google” allows people to connect their accounts to email management mechanisms, third parties, or to services such as travel planning and price comparison.
When connecting to an account of an external service, people are asked to give certain permits, often including access to reading, sending, deleting and managing email. According to <x0II Street Journal”, this permit often allows third-party app workers to read user emails.
As messages are usually processed by computer algorithms, the paper has spoken to several companies, where employees have read thousands of email messages.
“Google” already says that only companies allowed can access messages and can do so only if users have given permission to access emails. “Users Gmail”, advised to visit the security check site to see which apps they have connected to their account and delete those who do not want it.
