Pacolli: Sexual violence during war in Kosovo, one of the biggest wounds

As MPJ reports, in this case, Kosovo's top diplomat, Pacolli has announced Lord Ahmad about addressing the issue of dealing with sexual violence during the liberation war in Kosovo, thanking the latter for the great and concrete support that the United Kingdom, through the British Embassy in Pristina, has provided in the senbilisation of this issue and for the realisation of legal rights.
“Sexual violence during the recent war in Kosovo is one of the biggest wounds, which continues to burden a significant part of Kosovo society to this day. Institutions and civil society in Kosovo, since the post-war has been strongly engaged and have had close co-ordination in dealing with this issue very sensitive to the victims, but also to their own circle and the entire Kosovo society”, Foreign Minister Pacolli has said.
In addition, the government's number two has called for the continuation of further support of the British state for insinuating international opinion regarding these brutal crimes of Serbian forces with the aim of preventing them in the future throughout the world, as well as in promoting justice to the perpetrators of these serious crimes.
In this direction, he has expressed the devotion of the Republic of Kosovo to be part of international initiatives to prevent sexual violence in conflicts and wars.
According to non-governmental organisations representing victims, it is believed that around 20 thousand cases of sexual abuse have occurred in Kosovo's recent war
