The new plan called “Track25” is an extension of the current “Track22” presented in Geneva in 2016.
The original strategy did not include the successor to legends P1 Hyper Motors. There will be a hybrid car, and McLaren reports that the sports line will be electrified before 2025.
McLaren is currently working on the development of a superfuel battery very efficient for high performance vehicles.
The company is working hard to develop a fully electrical hybrid, which McLaren Executive Director Mike Flev said two years ago, it would be the most exciting sports machine ever made”.
It's a three-seat car named BP23. In addition, the plan includes the 570S Sports series, 570GT and 600LT and Super series 720S, which will be electrified.
McLaren predicts this will increase the company's productivity by 75%, with a target of 6,000 vehicles per year by mid- 2020. All cars will be produced in a factory in Walking.
