With a minute of silence has begun the comet collection held today in honour of the image of prominent native Ademi Demac at Pristina University “Hasan Pristina”.
Professor Myrvette Dreshey Baliu, as a sign of the Homazhi, has unveiled parts of Demach's biography.
“It is hard to find an important and crucial moment of our people, it is difficult to identify a number of challenges, sacrifices, wars and historical values of the Albanian people in which Bac Adem Demaci did not reflect his vital name, thought and background. With his Erudite life and work connected the political concepts and historical awareness of our people, and with his life and work are united our nation's efforts and the necessary prospect of joining as the natural act of the historical peoples of Europe and peoples with historical awareness, such as Albanians”, she said.
She has added that Demac's works carry the entire spiritual drama of Albanians, and that they bring a comprehensive dimension and constitute the entire fate of the people in the former Yugoslavia.
University of Pristina Rector Marjan Dema has said news of Demac's death has touched the hearts of Albanians everywhere.
“Adem Demach was unique, and for this everyone called “Bacque”. Bacca Ademi, this name naturally plays so much in terms of love and respect that the figure of the deceased enjoys in Albanians around the world. What I'm going to confess in the first person now I believe will be worth a lot of generations before and after me, I, by the name of Bica Ademi, was first announced as a 10-year-old child, by my brother who met Bache Adam in the Mitrovica prison of Srem, in the coming years was exactly this name that inspired us to be good students, that name that motivated us and gave us the courage to be unhibitable in protests, demonstrations, and many fronts, until we came to the realization of the dream of Bice Adam, the independence of Kosovo, said Dema.
He has said that Demach's work will live throughout generations and will be remembered among students. Dema has added that Demach has treated all of them equally, regardless of national or religious affiliation.
Rector UP's also added that he is proud that this university has managed to honour Demac's activity while he was alive.
The representative of the Demac family, Albanian Demac, the son of Adem Demac, has refreshed the audience's memories, recalling part of the protests for the university.
I'd add a detail that you know, but maybe it's best to refresh. In 1994, during protests for the University of Pristina, along with late professor Ejup Statovcin, to hold popular protests when people walked through the city of Pristina and us students across the main streets of the city of Pristina, when police stopped protesters, then practically mean the protesters did not stop, there was Baca Ademi, along with Professor Ejupi and other Pristina University professors, and practically broke that iron, the police stepped down, and continued the main route of the city of Pristina<>, Albanian Dema said.
Demach, among other things, has commemorated the prices his father received from international factors.
Adem Demach died at the age of 82 from health causes, while his figure is seen as synonymous with national resistance after spending nearly three decades as a political prisoner in prisons of the former Yugoslavia.
