Al Jazeera: Serbia proposes Kosovo exchange of territories

Serbia has established a new perspective on a new agreement with neighbouring Kosovo, which was split from Serbia 10 years ago, but these two countries can draft new areas and exchange parts of the territory makes international medium “Al Jazeera” known. Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq said [...]
Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq said that if such an agreement by “demarkation” is not done, Albanians would be distributed throughout Serbia in the coming years due to the high birth rate.
Vucic suggests that it could happen for northern Kosovo, which is populated by Serbs, to be owned by Belgrade. In exchange, the Serbian region with the town of Presevo, which is populated by Albanians, is given to Kosovo.
The influential Serbian Orthodox bishop Teodosije, who heads Kosovo, has warned against such a division, as the small Serb minority living in central Kosovo would emigrate more and more, said “Al Jazeera”, broadcast Periscopi.
Furthermore, Serbia will recognise Ksova, in exchange for Kosovo's north joining Serbia, writes “Globus” journalist Darko Hudelist.
Last week, Vuciq and Kosovo President Hashim Thaci have met with senior foreign policy representative Frederica Moghrini with the goal of reaching a satisfactory agreement between the two countries.
Even though he has lost control of the territory, Belgrade continues to claim sovereignty over Kosovo and Serbian leaders have pledged that they will never recognise Kosovo's independence.
Serbia, supported by Russia, is blocking Kosovo's promotion of UN membership.
