Italy invests 3m euros in Kosovo health

The deal is part of the 3 million project “Support for the Health System in Kosovo”, funded by the Italian Government through the Italian Agency for Co-operation and Development.
Health Minister Uran Ismajli, considering this agreement very important, said the health system in Kosovo needs many investments, changes and international co-operation.
According to him, through this agreement Kosovo doctors will be able to get new skills and experiences from the best-known health centres.
Italy's ambassador to Kosovo, Piero Cristofor Sardi, said the target of this 3m-euro project is strengthening cardiosurgeology services near KKUK.
The director general of the Paddy Hospital “Meer” of Florence, Alberto Zanobini, said that this co-operation with Kosovo health is not only the approach between medical staff but also investment in the friendship of the state of Kosovo and Italy.
“Sanitarian systems are a major investment in democracy and in strengthening citizens' rights, so I believe that through this co-operation not only do we get closer not only our two staffs... in the end is an investment in friendship between our two peoples and not just, but build health”, he said.
The Italian Agency for Co-operation and Development will deliver 370 thousand euros worth of equipment to the KKKUK Cardiosurgy Clinic tomorrow.
