Beqiri has said the prime minister had requested a meeting with Mustafa, while the latter has invited some of the party's senior officials to attend the meeting.
It's normal to have consultations. The LDK with its leader, Isa Mustafa, is the main place in which major decisions are made for the country. Even at a consultative meeting with the prime minister last night, it has become clear that the LDK does not support these institutions because they lack legitimacy. Therefore, even the prime minister has been made clear that we seek new elections to establish legitimate institutions”, Beqiri told the Express.
He has said other party leaders have also gone to see the LDK chief who is continuing treatment after a several-month illness he has had.
After last night's meeting, Prime Minister Haradinaj had said he was at the home of Isa Mustaf, where some of the party's top officials were.
“Today, between 7:00 and 8:00, I have been visiting the family of President Isa Mustafa. There were Lutfi Haziri, Agim Veliu, Ismet Beqiri, Cameron Shala, Avdullah Hoti”, Haradinaj had said.
Isa Mustafa has held a meeting with LDK) branch chiefs two days ago, and has called for new elections.
On the other hand, Ramush Haradinaj and Hashim Thaci have sought the LDK's support in dialogue with Serbia.
Only LDK Deputy Chairman Lutfi Haziri has not ruled out the possibility of the LDK supporting the president in the final phase of dialogue with the Serbian side.
While other LDK officials have opposed this idea.
