Players and staff of the National of Croatia have decided to donate the Worldly Winning Promises (about 23m euros) to a foundation of children.

“writes these lines because of the difficult situation in Croatia. Croatia is the poorest country in the European Union [out of 28 countries, is the third with the lowest GDP per capita, with 11,700 euros, only after Bulgaria and Romania], ruled by members of what has been considered a criminal organisation.
Croatia is a country from which millions of people have fled in the past 20 years. Today in Croatia, our pensioners are unable to meet their basic needs, young people cannot afford schooling, health is going bankrupt, and the judiciary protects big and corrupt businesses.
I request from all politicians and representatives of authorities that have led people to hell of misery, despair and poverty to stay away from Croatia's representative.
You're not welcome in our clothes, we don't want to take pictures or deal with you. You are the ones who make Croatia with the poorest people in Europe.
We have children who have never seen the sea, and Croatia has more than a thousand kilometers of coastline [over 1,880km]. We have children who go hungry to bed because their parents, unemployed, have nothing to feed.
The people who did this in our country are not welcome. Please respect our decision, don't wear fans of our footballers, don't use our success in promoting you. So you undermine the value of our work.
The entire team has reported that they will donate Russia's World Cup awards to a foundation for Croatian children. This foundation will finance summer holidays for those children who have never seen the Adriatic Sea.
Members of the Croatian football team are with the people of Croatia and will do what they can to help, beyond victories. All Croatian children will have the opportunity to spend at least seven days on the Croatian coast. That's the least we can do for the most vulnerable”, says the end.
