“bound as an animal”: Who blamed us for remaining the only isolated people in Europe for so long?

Today at a media conference, it was announced that the European Commission had given positive recommendation for abolishing visas for citizens of the Republic of Kosovo after we had met the remaining two conditions for this. But let us not be deceived - this is not as much an achievement as is a long and [...] disappointment.
Today at a media conference, it was announced that the European Commission had given positive recommendation for abolishing visas for citizens of the Republic of Kosovo after we had met the remaining two conditions for this.
But let us not be deceived: This is not an achievement as long as it is a long and painful disappointment! Citizens of Kosovo for years remained the only isolated people in Europe. Repeat the sentence: All citizens of European countries moved freely to the Schengen area, except for Kosovars.
Let us look beyond the criteria set for us. Why were Kosovars isolated and discriminated against in this way? Was that really a discrimination?
Hardly said. Kosovo suffers from political corruption, which, instead of being seriously fought, is only reinforced and damaging the economy and the prospects of the country's citizens.
Corruption and organised crime also afflict citizens of other countries, to be highlighted here are Ukraine, Romania, Albania and Moldova. But, Kosovo having no state tradition has not inherited decades-rooted problems with corruption. As a new state, assisted by the EU, our country was expected to move ahead by being relieved of past burdens. But having a political elite that was badly corrupted, and there was an organised crime that was not fought, and since Kosovo's citizens propped nationalist dyssava and sım adequately condemned those whose identities were seen as corrupt the EU decided to condemn.
From the election coalition between the PDK and the LDK at the end of 2014, we had a massive migration from Kosovo towards EU countries that were rightly interpreted as a reaction to that political development.
The situation is still tense, and tensions that do not erupt can bring people back desperately to the EU countries [which will be brought back again].
Today's report by the European Commission is only a new farce, since the criteria were set in a way to keep Kosovo with its corrupt elite under isolation.
However, it is not known whether the European Parliament will eventually free Kosovars from the visa regime, considering all political developments in Europe, with the rise of far-right parties. /Periscopi
