After a very weak World Championship, Argentina has fired coach Jorge Sampaoli and is now looking for someone to replace the Chilean.
The most controversial name at the moment seems to be a former Argentina coach, Jose Pekerman.
The reason Argentina can manage to convince Pekerman is for him to be released from contract with Colombia. Argentina has been working for eight years with the nationals, doing a great job and was hosted as a hero after returning from the World Cup.
Pekerman also has assistant Esteban Cambiason and has excellent relations with former players who led them to Argentina earlier.
If Pekerman is released at the end of the summer, the opposite is with names like Diego Simeone, Pablo Aimar and Maurizio Pochetino, all under long-term contracts with respective clubs.
Not to be forgotten is the past 68-year-old, who was unknown when he presented a project in 1994 and organized the entire Argentina youth system, leading the national A in the period 2004-2006.
