Alarm: Over a thousand injured in accidents for two months

Institutions responsible for marking roads, setting up cameras, planning drivers, and others are dealing with awareness campaigns, while communications experts call the situation extraordinary and say it is time for the end to take concrete measures.

In June and July alone, 1,000 and 58 people have sought medical assistance at the Emergency Clinic in Pristina. All as a result of accidents.

In June four people have lost their lives, while in July there are two cases of dead people, these cases have been reported only at the Emergency Clinic.

“For the June-July 2018 period has demanded medical assistance of 1058 cases due to traffic accidents. For the month of June, we have four dead, confirmed in the detention room, and for July we have two cases of fatally dead. Compared to last month in June, July, it is seen as the largest number of injured people who have sought emergency medical services, but we have no mortality increase, as far as the period for 2017-20188x1>, he said.

And these statistics make up the ages of 18 to 45.

In the Republic of Kosovo, within a day over 1,000 tickets are pronounced for various violations during violations of the rules in traffic.

In the Kosovo Police say they are monitoring and managing the situation in road traffic, in areas where traffic regulations are violated.

“Police with its unit are continuing to monitor and manage the situation in road traffic across all roads of the country, and where participants conflict with traffic rules, apply zero tolerance and rigorous punishment measures as the law envisions, with the aim of preventing accidents in general, and especially those with fatalities, who are showing concern for all of us, due to the loss of human lives”, the PK response is said.

Accidents have also been discussed at the Ministry of Infrastructure.

The chief of the minister's cabinet, Silver Zeynep, has told Kosova Prees that they are doing what they can within legal competencies to fix these problems.

While communications experts estimate that the situation is extraordinary and that extraordinary measures must be taken.

Speaking of increasing the number of cars in road traffic over the summer period, Krasniqi says the situation must be managed in the face of citizens' flow.

According to him, an action plan must be set up to withstand such a massive influx of citizens.

He says police should be assisted by institutions and citizens themselves in order to reach a solution.

The police should be present every corner of the road, as we don't have road traffic surveillance through intelligent systems, as if if we had cameras placed on different road axes exactly where the most accidents are happening, then there would be a solution, otherwise there should be police present”, he said.

And the Ministry of Infrastructure is talking about mobile technical controls.

According to them, we're looking at the possibility that there will be technical mobile controls, so that in cooperation with the KP vehicles can be controlled during the movement.

Recent days in Kosovo have occurred frequent accidents, some of which have ended with fatality.

The national road safety strategy has a 2015-2020 action plan, but measures have been taken so far.
