US President Donald Trump's fund collector, Brian Ballard, has personally lobbied him on behalf of the Kosovo government during April.
Ballard had spoken briefly with Trump about relations with Kosovo and had mentioned Kosovo Ambassador Vlora Citaku's request that Trump meet with the country's president, Hashim Thaci, according to a Justice Department document, writes Politico.
This was a brief part of a brief conversation, but the demand for publication is required by us to report this February”, Ballard said in an interview.
The meeting took place April 20th, as Trump was spending the week in Mar- A-Lago.
Also present were Johnny De Staefano, Trump's aide ball, Johnny DeStefano, and retired Lieutenant General Keith Kellog, who is now a national security adviser to vice president Mike Pence.
Locals representing foreign governments or political parties are required by law to find out who they are lobbiing for, unlike those who represent domestic interests.
While members of Congress and administration officials appear regularly in such reports, it is unusual for a president to do so. But Ballard, who had opened an office in Washington following Trump's election, has built a reputation as one of the few lobbyists enjoying a personal report with the president.
