Switzerland's authorities are considering the possibility of using data from Facebook, Twitter and other social media to investigate claims concerning asylum.
“Details that asylum seekers publish on social networks can lead us to conclusions that are important to asylum procedures, telling about family ties and other”, have told the Swiss daily NZZ from the immigration office.
A working group has been created to understand whether and how many social networking data can affect asylum applications.
Current asylum regulations require that authority only require the identity of asylum seekers.
