Residents of the village of Shipitule have protested Thursday in front of the Kosovo Government building, calling on Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj to keep his promise of employment at the Kosovo Energy Corporation following the agreement reached for expropriation, Koha Ditore writes today. They have warned that unless their demands are taken into account, they will ban the work they are doing on their lands.
But in the prime minister's office, they have said briefly that Haradinaj has not promised employment, but only priorities in the KEK competitions that open.
“Banors of the Hade and Shipule villages are allowed priority under equal conditions, for those who are residents of the particular area at least five years, in employment procedures for professions and workplaces generated by superficial mines and production of electricity, in accordance with the current legislation of the Republic of Kosovo”, the government's decision last September 15th.
Residents of these areas have protested several times, demanding that their employment demand be met, as Prime Minister Haradinaj has promised.
