Cristiano Ronaldo's bust at Madeira Airport has been replaced with a new one.

The sculpture by Portugal and Real Madrid player had caused reactions worldwide when it was first inaugurated last year at the airport, also known as the Cristiano Ronaldo International Airport in Madeira, writes the Daily Mail, broadcast Periscope.

Photos published by foreign media show the new bust, replaced by the old one. The old bust had received numerous criticisms for one reason: it did not look like Ronaldo.

The preliminary toast was worked by the mid - Jewish artist Emmanuel Santo, and the project had taken about three weeks.

However, an airport spokesman has confirmed to Spanish media that the bust has also replaced the exact one on Friday, when Ronaldo scored the hat-trick for Portugal against Spain at the World Cup./Periscopi/
