PDK seeks Pristina property abuse investigation

The PDK's Municipal Councils Group in Pristina has called on law and order bodies to conduct investigations and abusers of official positions within the Pristina municipality institutions and to decide justice.

Pristina Municipal Assembly PDK spokesman Kumrie Shabani has said that the publication of wiretapping of senior Vetevendosje officials Albin Kurti, who are involved in a deals with municipal property, well shows how this party and past municipal government did with Pristina.

The “Protagonists of this wiretapping are Nexhat Kryeziu, Director of the National Enterprise Company in Pristina, former deputy candidates and former candidates for Malisheva Mayor from the Vetevendosje party, and second Liridon Latifi, chairman of the Board of this company and violent activist of the Vetevendosje party. The annulment of the competition for renting locals near the Cathedrals in Pristina, because two Vetvendosje party militants have not benefited from this competition, clearly shows that not only in the local Public Company, but also in all Pristina municipality institutions has been manipulated in similar ways, settling up party militants and giving tenders to the party's support businesses of Vetevendosje”, Retkoeri has said.

While Asamist Leutrim Retkocer has stressed that we are witnessing a terrible war between those who received the mandate for leadership of the municipality, on charges of lynching, blackmailing, denigration and misuse, as well as fighting services with recorded conversations and other forms of blackmail. “Misuse of Vetevendosje party officials with power eliminated 190 businesses that had applied for renting Pristina's municipality premises to the “Pejton” neighbourhood. This abusive and illegal act of senior Vetëvendosje officials, certainly undertaken at the order of Albin Kurti, shows that this political subject has attempted to destroy everything in the country to come to power and through the power to misuse then more”, he added.

“The Democratic Party of Kosovo, the branch in Pristina, will not support the retaliatory behaviour the Vetevendosje party is making against the Social Democrat Party, as it would not support either neglect or the flight from responsibility that Pristina Mayor Shpend Ahmeti is making. We ask President Shpend Ahmeti to come to the next session and respond to the situation created in the Pristina municipality, as well as to act with decision-making responsibility for hundreds of problems of Pristina citizens”, PDK assister Kumrie Shabani has said.

In the end, Asamblist Retkoceri has assured Pristina citizens that the Democratic Party of Kosovo will not be the blocking party in Pristina's Municipal Assembly, just as it was not blocking even in the previous mandate. He has said that wherever it is the interest of the citizens of Pristina, the Democratic Party of Kosovo will protect them.
