Kosovo, Albania with joint police patrols

As Kosovo Police report, today in Lezha, U.D. Kosovo Police General Director Mr. Naim Rexha and State Police General Director Ardi Veliu were signed the Understanding Agreement for Joint Patrol between the Kosovo Police and Albania's State Police.

“Referenced to the need and importance of continuing co-operation and joint patrols between the two police agencies in an effort to increase road safety elements in Albania, from July 1st 2018, the first shift by Kosovo's traffic police officials will begin to patrol jointly with Albania's Police Traffic Unit in the State of Albania.

Aware of the fact that during the tourist season, almost every year there is a significant increase in the number of citizens from Kosovo who go on vacation in Albanian tourist areas, as well as of the means that circulate in the main road axes connecting the two countries, the realisation and continuation of this joint agreement is seen.

With the aim of intensifying and strengthening the co-operation of further co-operation between the police of the two countries, through planning and implementing joint measures, as well as aimed at establishing traffic security for participants of the two countries, the joint patrols in Albania are constantly being deemed necessary and successful, so as a result of these estimates even this year, this Agreement of Understanding was signed.

In addition to this joint patrol, it is aimed at establishing concrete co-operation in the field of prevention of administrative counterinvention, increasing the efficiency of the war against the loss of human lives in road accidents, and rigorous implementation of road legislation, to create a safer environment for all citizens and road users, which circulate on road axes linking the two countries <x0).
