US Intelligence agencies believe North Korea has increased its nuclear fuel production in several secret locations in recent months.
The US Intelligence Declaration, which has not been issued before, seems to contradict Trump's impressions, which after the Summit said no nuclear threat exists in North Korea.
Analysts at the CIA and other intelligence agencies don't see it that way, according to a number of American officials who are familiar with agency statements and who have spoken on condition of anonymity. They see a regime that is trying to take as much advantage of the Trump administration, but on the other hand, by clinging to nuclear weapons that believe they are essential to its survival.
The White House did not immediately respond to the demand for comment.
In recent months, even though the two countries were involved in diplomacy, North Korea was increasing nuclear production, five US officials say, citing the latest Intelligence statement. The two countries agreed to work towards deregulation, but there are no specific agreements.
