Protests before Macedonia's Parliament against the name deal have been ruled out in violence with police after a group of protesters had begun throwing stones and elsewhere at the police in an effort to break the cordon and enter the Assembly. In this case, police have used tear gas to disperse protesters.
Unofficially, even some injured persons have been reported, while early aid vehicles have been spotted near the site. The situation is quiet, but tense.
Protesters, in small numbers throughout the day, have been standing before the Assembly, where they have kept the road blocked as a sign of dissatisfaction with the name deal, calling it “capitulation for Macedonia and the Macedonian people”. /alsatm/
