Today is June 30th, and as of one week, when 12,000 books at the National Library in Tirana were damaged by the flooding, library employees are drying out these hair dryers.
But can books be saved by drying them in this form, and can they become readable after this process? Against this phenomenon, civil society activists rose to protest this Saturday before the entrance of the National Library, after they entered, they were not allowed in.
For the situation, activists blame the director of the National Library, which had ironically taken pictures of a hair dryer.
“This is a clear criminal act and what is the most terrifying, the silence of this state in the face of the worst murder that can be done to the Albanian nation at dia”, activist Brizida Gjicondi said.
Since the institution of moral resignation doesn't exist, since the leaders don't understand the weight and burden of duty being carried on all dimensions, we demand that the prosecution activate”, said pedagodu Erion Christo.
Activists demand that the guilty be found and the Attorney General be set in motion and investigate the causes of the Library's flooding.
“I call on the General Prosecutor to do his job, do not have its own small interests just to pass the vet and leave such a big crime for the Albanian nation, unannounced and unpunished”, said activist Gjikondi.
