This includes $10,000 production costs and $18,000 per materials. Given that Tesla is still not selling the cheapest $35,000 version, the company is very profitable for any sale of Model 3.
This profit has been achieved largely because of the battery packing in this automobile, which is evidently using less cobalt than is the case with Tesla's competition.
