The retired technologist Watt (70) by Great Lumley, Durham (Great Britain) began to entertain himself by looking for coins, but it soon became passion.
Even people who knew him even collected coins for him, he says.
Along with friends “stensis” he collected exactly 954000 lost coins, worth 47,000 pounds.
But dear father didn't keep a penny for himself.
Instead, Ian has donated all his findings to a care centre for the sick in Durham, where he works as a volunteer.
A spokesman for this centre has described Ian as a “breath” for others.
Since 2004, Ian Watt has collected 9544,000 5p pizzas for @ StCuthsHospice In Durham, where he's a #volunteer. That's advanced up to 477,700 in total and Ian says his aim is to reach the 1 million 5p Mark for 550,000: https://t.co/5HLPF1s8os ♪VolunteersWeek #hospicehero Pic.twitter. com/kCq3 XouOA
