Austrian Chancellor has said the country cannot set “parallel society”
More than 60 Turkish immames along with their families will be expelled from Austria and seven mosques will be closed because of what the Austrian government has named, “islam political”>>, the Guardian reports.
Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz said that the country cannot tolerate <x0-companion, political Islam and radicalism,”, which they said “have no place in our country”.
The announcement was made at a press conference by leaders of the ruling coalition.
Meanwhile, the Republic of Turkey has reacted sharply through Ibrahim Kalin, spokesman for Turkish President Erdogan, saying Austria's “decision to close many mosques and expel the imams with a coherent reason is the reflection of the anti-Islamic, racist and discriminatory wave in this country. ”
Relations between Austria and Turkey have been tense for a long time, with Sebastian Kurzi's insistence on the EU ending negotiations with Ankara to join the bloc. /Periscopi
