The 6 hectares of land in Pristina Industrial Zone

At least 37 parcels at “Industrial Zone” in Pristina, with about 6 hectares, are exploited by various businesses without any compensation to the municipality.

The National Audition Office in the Report for 2017 said that according to the Property Directorate in the Pristina municipality, this year the possibility of generationing revenues from the parcels of the area has begun to be considered.

In 2014 the municipality had verified all municipal property, including the plots that are in the section called “Industrial Zones”.

The report recommends that the chairman review the cause of the exploitation of property without compensation and take action to sign agreements with property-exploring businesses for their compensation, either through rent or other legal forms.

According to the audience, the municipality of Pristina has failed to verify 1/3 real estate, as required with the law in force for real estate tax.

Out of a total of 97,408 properties so far the municipality has managed to verify only about 23,521 Sosh.

The verification process is completely similar to that of the census, except it doesn't result in registering a new property but with the improvement of existing” notes, the report says.

According to the audit report, failure to verify 1/3 of the properties could result in the lack of full information of current taxable property, with the potential impact of the estimated revenues for property tax reduction.
