A meeting of leaders called by Macedonia's prime minister, Zoran Zaev, is being held at the MP club to announce the course of name talks and concrete proposal “Republic of Macedonia”.
President Ivanov, Chief Prime Minister Xhaferi, VMRO leader Mickovski, DUI leader Ahmeti and diplomacy chief Nikola Dimitrov are participating in the meeting.
Macedonia and Greece have reached agreement on changing Macedonia's name.
Macedonian Prime Minister Zoran Zaev and Greek Alexis Tsipras have agreed to the Sofia Summit for Macedonia's new name to be “Republic of Macedonia of Ilinden”.
Ilinden is the Day of the Republic of Macedonia. With this agreement that has not yet been confirmed, the path will be opened to EU membership Macedonia and the North Atlantic Alliance.
