The new generation of S60, which debunks this summer, will have no diesel engine, said the first man, Hokan Samuelson.
He announced that since 2017, Volvo will ban the development of new oil engines, and recent news reports suggest that Swedish manufacturer is gradually removing this kind of power from its models
The decision that the new S60 will not be on diesel engines is part of Volvo's strategy, which envisions that by 2025, half of all cars sold by this producer in the world will be powered by electricity.
According to Samuelson, this decision is not exclusively linked to air pollution caused by oil engines.
We're not doing this because oil engines are more dirty, but because their development and production are becoming increasingly complicated and expensive”, explains Volvo CEO.
