Republika Kosovo Deputy Prime Minister Enver Hoxhaj has travelled for an official visit to Brussels, where at the top of the agenda there is the lobby for visa liberalisation for our country.
During the visit to Brussels, Hoxhaj will hold high-level meetings where visa liberalisation, meeting criteria on the part of Kosovo, and the next steps the European Commission and EU member states must take.
In the agenda Hoxhaj, among other things, will hold meetings with Commissioner Hahn and Avramopolos, European Parliament rapporteur for Kosovo Igor Soltes, as well as many other meetings that focus on the topic.
Soon, the European Commission is expected to send a team of assessments of Kosovo's compliance with criteria for visa liberalisation. With the European Commission's recommendation, Kosovo must secure the support of the qualified majority of EU member states in order to travel visa-free to the Schengen area.
A week ago, Hoxhaj also travelled to Berlin, where visa liberalisation was one of the topics of discussion.
