American President Donald Trump waited at midnight, with the local American clock, three American citizens who were released after a long time from North Korea.
Trump said this “was a special night for these really big people”, waiting with applause as they came down to base “Andrews” in Air Force, near Washington.
The White House announced that the three were released as a gesture of goodwill prior to the planned meeting between President Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong. The American president also stated that the summit site would be declared “within 3 days”.
Trump and his wife, Melanie, entered the plane that was sitting at 2:45 a.m. in the air base, and a few minutes later, they came out of there along with the 3 released ones, writes Top Channel.
The White House chief praised the fact that Kim Jong-un allowed people to leave his country “which, in all sincerity, could not be thought to happen before the” meeting.
Asked by the media if this was an achievement that makes him proud, Trump said this would be possible “only when the entire peninsula was de-launched”.
It's an honor, of course. But the real glory will be marked when we achieve victory in the annihilation of nuclear weapons on the Korean” peninsula, he said.
Trump said he hoped one day he could travel to North Korea, and that he believed Kim Jong-un would undoubtedly want to restore his country to “the real world”.
The three freed, Kim Hak-song, Tony Kim and Kim Dong-chul, went smiling and appeared in good health, despite being sentenced to forced and heavy labor in the communist country.
