Organising in Kosovo, the World Book Championship for People with Down Syndrome, is one of the best events that has happened in the sports field.
For the first time, Kosovo is becoming a swimmer's host from around the world. So said Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj, after hosting the president of the World Olympic Book Committee for People with Syndrome, Geoff Smedley, Club Chairman “Termopan” Lulzim Zedella, gold and silver medal winner in swimming competitions Medina Surdul, racers and other representatives from swimming sports.
“Kosovar athletes are proving to be the best ambassadors in the world every day. With their achievements in different sports, as is the case of Medina they brought to Kosovo gold medals, making us proud in the” international arena, Haradinaj said.
Prime Minister Haradinaj thanked DSISO President Smedley for the space he is giving Kosovo swimmers in international representations, which, as the prime minister said, Kosovo is winning.
Prime Minister Haradinaj stressed the Kosovo government's readiness to assist athletes in Kosovo, praising their role and willingness to represent Kosovo in international sports.
“Medina and other swimmers with Down syndrome make us proud of their commitment and will have the government's irresistent support”, Haradinaj said.
Meanwhile, the president of the World Booking Committee for People With Syndrome, Geoff Smedley, thanked the prime minister for waiting, expressing his readiness to support Kosovo swimmers in international competitions.
For the first time, Kosovo became the host of the international swimming competition for people with Down Syndrome.
Other representatives of DSISO and Nott clubs from Kosovo attended the meeting.
At the end of the meeting, Prime Minister Haradinaj donated the president of the World Olympic Book Committee for People with Syndrome, Geoff Smedley and Medina Surdul to the Skenderbei medal.
