But what is Ilinden?
It refers to the Ilinden-Preobracy uprising, or other than Ilinden, which was an organized revolt against the Ottoman Empire, at the time Albanians were defending him the Emperor. The historical meaning of this name may be of great importance to Albanians, depending on how they interpret their history.
The name of the uprising, Ilinden, refers to Elijah's day, by Bulgarians and Macedonians. While Preobrazhenia means transfigurement, Periscope follows.
