Infrastructure Minister Paul Lekaj has visited today the segment of the N 2, Kacanik- Hani of Elez National Road, where stone and soil slides are taking place, due to which the Ministry of Infrastructure has already closed this route until the full sancing of the situation.
Addressing the media, Minister Lekaj said we will continue to look at all other points that endanger the lives of citizens and intervene in advance and not after the event takes place.
We're here to sanction the situation as soon as possible on the basis of the estimates we're going to have in a week and, according to the expert's word, we're going to decide how to approach the Sanim of the road, as it has made the circulation of people and goods difficult. We have contacted Macedonia's Government yesterday, and whatever decision is made to move the customs into Globocia, agree as Macedonia's Government so that we don't have trouble in communication and customs, which also depends on”, said Minister Lekaj.
Project director Riyadh Alkhazray has said they are making the contribution to analyse and sanction the situation so that after this segment's sanjation, this road will be safe in the long term plan for all citizens, after its closure for circulation due to the risk of landslides.
Minister Lekaj has visited the bridge under construction on the “Arba Xhaferi” highway, which is one of the largest bridges in the country and the region and has seen closely the works being carried out in this project of importance to the country and citizens.
He has expressed satisfaction with works on this bridge, which will be even the most special part of this highway, as this bridge will be the longest in the region and parts will be up to 80m above land level.
“I am surprised at the progress of the works, especially the longest of this bridge in the region, measuring 5.7 kilometers long and the entire bridge will be completed by 25 September of this year. We as minister would stick to our obligations so that there would be no extensions of the work and come to situations what we were before. I feel good when in Kosovo such quality and European standards are built, said Minister Lekaj.
