Kosovo Orthodox Church in conflict

Serbia's President Aleksandar Vuciq has spoken about reports with the Orthodox Church of Serbia, saying their proposal for Kosovo is not real.

According to Vuciq, the Serbian Church prefers frozen conflicts and the solution to better times.

He has said that all day long he is thinking of an answer to the Church's position, but, according to him, he cannot find a good answer.

I read their statement several times. I've seen everything and respected everything, but I haven't seen the solution. Is it the solution to deny everything, to be against everything, to have frozen conflict and to expect a better time. What time, when in Serbia we will be 5 or 3 million (banor). When everyone is leaving the country or when we're all gonna be gone 50 years before” he said.

The Serbian Orthodox Church had introduced its position around it, stressing that Serbia should neither recognise Kosovo nor commit to division, urging the Serbian leadership not to release.

Vuciq has said that citizens will say the final word on everything.

I respect our Chisha very much, but I think that neither government nor president has helped the Orthodox Church so much, ask the patriarch. We are in a very difficult situation, because now under the Church proposal we have nothing more to talk about (with Kosovo)“he said.

Vuciq has said that under the Church of Albanians' proposal it would have to be told Albanians „come live under Serbian autonomy“.

This is something very unrealistic... I wouldn't use a hard word on the Church because I have no right or courage. Everyone talks about the holy earth, but assus is not going to live on that earth“Vuchic said.
