The German newspaper “Bild” cannot explain how 3 referees of the Real Madrid-Baeren Munchen match couldn't see the touch of the ball inside the area by Marcelo in the last seconds of the first part.
With a picture showing very clearly the position of the main referee, that side and the judge behind the gate, “Bild” says at least one should have seen and the penalty should have been given.
Marcelo himself was honest in his statement after the match: “I touched the ball by hand, it was 11mm. I would lie if I told you otherwise. Referee didn't notice, but I touched the ball by hand. It was a penalty. That's football. I don't want to talk about referees, but sometimes they make mistakes in favor and at other times against”.
The Real-Bayern match ended with a score of 2-2, and the Madrillians reached the third consecutive final in the League Champions.
