A new bug has been named after renowned actor Leonardo DiCaprio, reports The Guardian.
The small black bug, which has a partially canceled head and prominent eye, was named after the star of Titanic and Ravenant because of DiCaprio's environmental activism.
Scientists who took part in an expedition at the Maliau Basin of Borneo found the first insect “Groullinus letonardodiocarried” from a shallow stream about a mile above sea level.
This is not the first time a bug is named after a popular personality, as such names are given to Arnold Schearzenegger, Donald Trump, Kate Winslet, George W Bush, Bill Clinton and Adolf Hitler.
In this case, we didn't name the insect because Leonardo DiCaprio” looked like it, and Iva Neyq was expressed by the Tuxon Expedita. We wanted to show that even the smallest creature is very important, such as this bug that no one knew anything about”
